The Biggest Raisers: A Closer Look

 

As part of LAVCA’s 2025 Trends in Tech report, LAVCA Research mapped the universe of  Latin American startups that have raised USD150m+ in cumulative financing, are still active and have yet to list or get acquired.

 

Among the group, fintechs have raised the most capital since 2023, with notable exceptions in proptech — such as La Haus, Habi, Loft, QuintoAndar — and in e-commerce, including Merama and Jüsto, along with other sectors.

Deals

 

▸ Valor Capital Group and QED Investors led a USD27m round for Capim, a Brazilian financial management platform for dentists, with participation from Endeavor Catalyst, Credit Saison, Actyus and follow-on from ONEVC, Canary and NXTP.

 

▸ AGTECH | KASZEK led a ~USD15.5m round for Grão Direto, a Brazilian agricultural commodity marketplace, with participation from Endeavor Scale-Up Ventures, CME Ventures, SLC Ventures and undisclosed investors. 

  • Grão Direto raised USD8m in March 2022; Brazil-based PE firm Lanx Capital led a ~USD2.7m round in February 2021; Grão Direto was Monsanto Growth Ventures inaugural investment in Brazil in 2018. 

▸ DEBT | Maxxa, a Chilean digital credit platform, secured USD10.6m in debt from Symbiotics and Delphos.

 

▸ AGTECH | ALIVE Ventures and Desert Bloom Foods led a USD9m Series A for GoodSAM, a US-based producer of regenerative consumer products in Colombia and other emerging economies, with participation from LATAM Impact Fund, Promotora Social Mexico, One Small Planet and Connecticut Innovations.

 

▸ Sequoia Capital led a USD5.5m round for Enter, a Brazilian AI startup developing a legal defense platform for enterprises, with participation from ONEVC and Atlantico. 

  • This is Sequoia’s first investment in a Brazilian startup since leading the USD14.3m round for Nubank in 2014. 
  • CEO Mateus Costa-Ribeiro shares the story behind Enter and Sequoia’s conviction behind the founding team.

▸ KASZEK invested USD5.5m in Niva, a US- and Mexic0-based automated business verification platform. 

 

▸ Costanoa and CV iDEXO, the CVC arm of TOTVS, led a ~USD5m Series A for Malga, a Brazilian e-commerce solutions platform, with participation from IGNIA Partners, Gaingels and follow-on from QED Investors, Norte Ventures and YC. 

 

▸ 4Equity Media Ventures invested ~USD4.8m in Buser, a Brazilian bus ticketing platform.

  • Lightrock led a ~USD140m Series C in June 2021.

▸ RediRedi, a Brazil-based digital catalog platform, raised USD3m from undisclosed angels. 

 

▸ Sytrex, a Colombian reinsurance automation startup, raised USD1.1m from Broom Ventures, Kuiper, Aito Capital and AAC Capital.

 

▸ Yavendió, a Mexican e-commerce solutions platform, raised a USD850k pre-seed round from Magma Partners, iThink VC and Semilla Ventures.

 

▸ Arar Capital invested ~USD800k in Picsel, a Brazilian agricultural insurance startup. 

 

▸ Espírito Santo’s FUNSES1 led a ~USD590k pre-seed round for Loopia, Brazilian e-commerce solutions platform, with participation from ACE Ventures, BVC and Questum.

 

▸ HRTECH | Crescera Capital and Triaxis Capital led a ~USD480k round for Gibb, an on-demand payroll startup.

  • SRM Ventures invested ~USD5.5m in Gibb; Propel VC led a USD4.3m seed round in September 2024.

▸ Citi invested in Kanastra, a Brazil-based capital markets infrastructure startup.

  • KASZEK led a ~USD21m Series A in June 2024; Valor Capital Group and Quona Capital co-led a USD13m seed round in June 2023.

▸ Equity Group invested in One Big Media, a Brazilian digital media startup. 

 

▸ Salkantay Ventures led an undisclosed seed round for Equip, a Peruvian construction materials marketplace. 

 

▸ AGTECH | The Yield Lab Latam invested in Agricapital, a Colombian agricultural financing platform.

  • ALIVE Ventures led a USD7.4m equity and debt round in October 2024.

▸ IMPAQTO Capital invested in CICLO, a Peruvian construction materials recycling startup. 

 

▸ BIOTECH | The Yield Lab Latam invested in Phage Labs, a Chilean biotech developing alternative disease treatments to control cattle sickness. 

  • Phage Labs raised a USD11m round in January 2024; KASZEK and Humboldt Fund led a USD30m round in June 2021.

▸ HEALTHTECH | Imagine Ventures invested in Yana, a Mexican mental health and wellness platform.

  • ALLVP led a USD1.5m round in June 2021; Yana raised USD315k from Magma Partners, Hustle Fund and 500 Startups earlier this year.

▸ SaasSholic and MAYA Capital led an undisclosed seed round for Jusfy, a Brazilian ERP for lawyers and accountants, with participation from Norte Ventures, FJ Labs and The Legal Tech Fund.

  • SaasSholic led a ~USD1.4m round in December 2022. 

▸ Amplifica Capital invested in Bioplaster Research, a Mexico-based nanomaterials research startup. 

 

▸ Vita Wallet, a Chile-based international transfer platform, raised USD750k from ABC Din. 

 

▸ M&A | ComunidadFeliz, a Chilean operations and finance management platform for condominiums, acquired Swappi, a Chilean project management platform.

  • ComunidadFeliz raised a USD1m debt round from BTG Pactual in March 2024; Clout Capital invested USD2m in July 2020.
