GPCA Climate Training in Singapore

GPCA Climate Training-2

GPCA will host a climate training session from 9 to 4 pm followed by a cocktail reception from 4 to 6 pm on 2 November 2023 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Singapore.

 

This training, held in collaboration with the FMO (Netherlands’ Development Finance Company), will feature Milena Nikolova of Aera VC, Noel Peters of Asian Development Bank, Roshini Bakshi of Everstone, Charissa Bosma of FMO, George Janssen of FMO, Bence Szegedi of Navis Capital Partners, Dominic Chan of Temasek and Steve Okun of GPCA.

GPCA Members, global institutional investors and other invited guests will convene for an evening of networking and cocktails from 6:30-9:30 pm at the Hotel Café Royal. Co-hosted with Debevoise & Plimpton. 

 

8 November: Co-Investments Legal Session

 

In this interactive session on Co-Investment Trends and Best Practices In Global Markets, partners from Debevoise & Plimpton will examine the evolving state of co-investments and its impact on fund managers active in GPCA’s markets. This session will be held from 5:00-6:00 pm at the Hotel Café Royal. 

 

9 November: GPCA Investors Meeting

 

The annual GPCA Investors Meeting will be held on 9 November 2023 at The Bloomsbury in London and will convene a highly curated gathering of GPCA Member investors and global LPs, including Mazin Alshanbari, Investment Office of Jada/PIF; John Merrill, Managing Director of GroveStreet; Craig Thorburn, Director, Office of CIO of Future Fund; and Benoit Valentin, Global Head, Private Equity Fund Investments of Temasek. Other LPs attending include the Canadian Medical Protective Association, Railpen, CPP Investments, Tesco Pension Fund and representatives from GPCA’s DFI Council.

► JTA International Holdings led a EUR220m (~USD230.8m) Series D for Investree, an Indonesia-based lending platform for SMEs, with participation from SBI Holding. #Asia

 

► Bain Capital invested ~USD200m in Masan Group, a Vietnam-based conglomerate. This is Bain Capital’s first investment in Vietnam. #Asia


► Indonesia-based superapp GoTo raised USD150m, including USD125m from IFC and the USD25m from Franke & Company. #Asia
 

► Advent International acquired a 50.1% stake in Suven Pharma, an India-based pharmaceutical products manufacturer. #Asia

► Singapore-based e-commerce brand aggregator Rainforest raised USD21.5m in convertible notes from Monk's Hill Ventures, January Capital, Insignia Ventures Partners, Canopy Tropics and others. #Asia

 

► Mirova Sunfunder led a USD12m debt facility for SunCulture, a Kenya-based solar irrigation and farming technology solutions provider, with participation from Nithio, Mirova and Triodos Investment Management. #Africa

 

► Creatopy, a Romania-based creative automation platform that helps businesses create ads, raised a USD10m Series A from 3VC and Point Nine. #CEE

► Monk's Hill Ventures led a Series A for DELOS, an Indonesia-based aquaculture-tech company. #LatinAmerica

 

FUNDRAISING

► Yellowstone Capital Partners reached a USD475m first close for Yellowstone Flagship Opportunity Fund IV. The real estate fund will invest in developing sustainable communities through large-scale residential projects and mixed-use assets in Colombia. #LatinAmerica

 

► BNDESPar agreed to invest BRL638.5m (~USD126.6m) in six funds managed by KPTL, Astella, DNA Capital, Cedro, Patagonia, Good Karma and Noon, focusing on startup in Brazil. #LatinAmerica

 

► LeapFrog Investments raised a significant share of its fourth Emerging Consumer Fund focusing on financial services and healthcare businesses in global growth markets. The vehicle has a USD1b target and is set to close 29 February 2024. #Global
