TC Latin America Partners on Mexico's Industrial Growth and Geopolitical Shifts

GPCA Investors Meeting

GPCA convenes ~100 senior leaders in London annually for its Investors Meeting, taking place this year at EBRD Headquarters. Bridging the worlds of development banks, commercial investors and intermediaries, the one-day event centers on working meetings and practical discussions focused on mobilizing capital at scale.

With participation from GPCA’s DFI Council Members — including EBRD, BII and IFC, as well as fund managers, corporates and industry advisors — discussions will explore key themes within capital mobilization, such as climate and impact. Past participants have included La Caisse, GIC, Cambridge Associates and Skandia Norden.

DEAL CASE

Vinci Compass | Camarada Camarão

In May 2019, Vinci Compass acquired a 46.6% stake in Camarada Camarão, a Brazil-based casual seafood dining chain. At the time of investment, the company operated five restaurants. With Vinci’s support, Camarada expanded to 31 restaurants across 15 states by the first half of 2025 before Grupo Alife Nino acquired a controlling stake.

Vinci partnered with Camarada to develop a replicable model for restaurant expansion, strengthen governance and support fundraising, enabling the company to grow 5x faster than its pace prior to Vinci’s investment. Between 2019 and 2024, revenue increased from USD15m to more than USD90m, with annualized EBITDA surpassing USD10m. During the same period, the workforce grew from 630 to more than 2,300 employees, nearly 50% of whom are female. The restaurant chain has developed programs to create an inclusive working environment for minorities and people with disabilities.

► NewTrails Capital invested USD55m in Spiro, an Africa-based electric mobility platform, bringing the company's latest funding round to USD270m. #Africa

► Convergence Partners Energy Finance agreed to invest USD20m in Anzana Electric Group, an Africa-focused developer and operator of renewable power generation and distribution projects. #Africa

► GSR invested USD14m in Libeara, a Singapore-based digital asset infrastructure company, with participation from Openspace Capital, Kyobo Life Insurance Group, AlloyX, Kaia Investment Partners, Simsan Ventures and Monk's Hill Ventures. #Asia

► ALTÉRRA and I Squared Capital co-invested in Inkia Energy, a Peru-based independent power producer, through a continuation vehicle jointly controlled by I Squared and CPP Investments. #LatinAmerica

► Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), the European Investment Bank and a Danish pension fund co-led an investment in Pestera II, a Romania-based onshore wind farm project. #CEE

► Apollo acquired a controlling stake in Vidrios Lirquén, a Chile-based flat glass manufacturer for construction, through its acquisition of a controlling stake in Nippon Sheet Glass Company. #LatinAmerica

► Adenia completed its acquisition of a stake in Parkville Pharmaceuticals, an Egypt-based pharmaceutical company, from Admaius Capital Partners. #Africa

FUNDRAISING

► TLcom Capital reached a USD70m first close for its targeted USD150m pan-African tech fund. #Africa

► Allianz Global Investors reached a USD744m first close for Allianz Asia Pacific Secured Lending Fund III, focused on middle-market private credit opportunities across Southeast Asia, South Asia, Oceania and select Asia-Pacific markets (excluding China). #Asia

► Nucleo Ventures launched a EUR34m (~USD38.8m) fund to invest in startups and innovative SMEs across Romania and Central and Eastern Europe, with a EUR23.5m (~USD26.8m) commitment from ADR Nord-Vest. #CEE

► Clifford Capital, the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG) and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) reached a USD250m first close for the Energy Transition Acceleration Finance (ETAF) partnership. #Asia

EXITS

► CVC Capital Partners agreed to exit Fast Logistics Group, a Philippines-based logistics company, via the sale of its entire stake to WLC Holdings. #Asia
