GPCA Private Credit Council Meeting:
Key Takeaways

#LeadershipCouncils

The Private Credit Leadership Council convened last week, led by Council Chair Gustavo Ferraro of Gramercy Funds Management. Here are some key takeaways:

  • Businesses that previously tapped bond markets or banks for financing are now increasingly turning to private credit funds, creating new opportunities amid recent market disruptions.
  • While volatility in the US market is prompting many allocators to reassess their exposure, they remain cautious about making commitments outside core markets given the current global uncertainty.
  • Fund managers continue to educate LPs on risk and return considerations for private credit in emerging economies. In the US, leverage usage at the fund level continues to grow, and the influx of capital into private credit has intensified competition.
