Top & Emerging Women Investors in Latin America

Top&Emerging 2024

LAVCA recently released its annual list of Top & Emerging Women Investors in Latin America.

 

These lists include 196 senior-level and 306 junior-level women investment professionals, representing a 37% and 66% increase, respectively, over 2023.

 

This year, for the first time, the Top and Emerging lists expand beyond venture capital to include prominent women in private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate.

◼︎IFM Investors acquired Aleatica, a Mexican transportation infrastructure operator in a transaction valued at USD8.2b. #RealAssets

 

◼︎Grupo Romero Asset Management invested in UniVista Insurance, a US-based insurance company serving Hispanic communities in Florida and Texas valued at USD700m. #PE

 

◼︎Treecorp invested in Decolores, a Brazil-based producer of marble, granite, quartzite and other natural stone products. #PE

 

◼︎Exagon Impact Capital invested in Solar Assets Latin America, a distributed solar energy platform operating in Colombia, Ecuador, Panama and Mexico. #RealAssets

 

◼︎ArtCap Strategies provided a USD40m senior loan to Island Finance, a Trinidad and Tobago-based loan provider. #PrivateCredit

 

◼︎ALIVE Ventures led a USD29m round for FinMaq, a Colombia-based digital lending platform, with participation from 30N Ventures, Accial Capital and Iris Bank. #VC

 

◼︎Incofin exited Microfinanciera Fundeser, a Nicaragua-based microfinance company, via sale to Grupo Atlántida. #PE

 

◼︎Big Bets reached a BRL150m (~USD24.5m) first close for Big Bets Fund II focused on software companies in the seed and pre-seed stages. #VC

 

◼︎Riza Asset raised BRL123m (~USD20.1m) for renewable energy infrastructure in Brazil. #PE

 

◼︎VEF fully exited Brazil-based vehicle monitoring platform Gringo, via a sale to Sem Parar Instituicao de Pagamento. #VC
