    ► CDPQ-backed Verene Energia to acquire Equatorial Transmissao, a Brazil-based power transmission line operator, for CAD1.26b (~USD891.4m). #LatinAmerica

     

    ► A consortium led by TPG agreed to acquire India-based wind energy company Siemens Gamesa Renewable Power for ~USD500-550m. #Asia

     

    ► Merama, a Mexico- and Brazil-based e-commerce brand aggregator, raised a USD215m equity and debt round from Advent International, SoftBank, Valor Capital Group, monashees and others. #LatinAmerica

     

    ► Alpha Wave Global agreed to acquire a 6% stake in the snack business of Haldiram’s, an India-based fast-food restaurant chain, for INR51.6b (~USD600m). #Asia

     

    ► Global Infrastructure Partners agreed to acquire a 70% stake in Vale's Brazil-based renewable energy arm Alianca Energia for ~USD1b. #LatinAmerica

     

    ► ChrysCapital agreed to acquire a 90% stake in India-based bakery chain Theobroma Foods for ~INR22b-23b (~USD257m-269m), facilitating an exit for ICICI Venture. #Asia

     

    ► Macquarie Asset Management agreed to acquire a 45% stake in TAG Pipelines Sur, a Mexico-based gas pipeline company, facilitating an exit for Brookfield Infrastructure Partners. #LatinAmerica

     

    ► Accel led a USD131m investment in Spinny, an India-based used car retailer. #Asia

     

    ► Orion Resource Partners led a USD120m round for New Wave, a Brazil-based mining technology company. #LatinAmerica

     

    ► QED Investors led a USD75m Series B for Felix Pago, a Mexico-based WhatsApp-enabled cross-border money transfer service. #LatinAmerica

     

    ► Janngo Capital led a USD17m investment in Djamo, a Cote d'Ivoire-based digital banking service provider, with participation from Y Combinator, Oikocredit, Enza Capital and others. #Africa

     

    ► Kinea invested BRL210m (~USD36.4m) in Greentech, a Brazil-based cargo handling equipment rental company. #LatinAmerica

     

    FUNDRAISING

    ► CBC Group reached a RMB7b (~USD956.6m) first close for its debut RMB-denominated buyout fund focused on healthcare investments across China. The vehicle has a RMB10b (~USD1.4b) target. #Asia

     

    EXITS

    ► KKR agreed to sell a ~10.2% stake in India-based pharmaceutical company J.B. Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals for USD300m. #Asia

     

    ► MidEuropa exited Romania-based private healthcare network Regina Maria Group via a sale to Finland-based healthcare provider Mehiläinen. #CEE
