Deals

▸ Andreessen Horowitz and WCM Investment Management co-led a USD300m Series F for Kavak, a Mexican car resale marketplace, with participation from Foxhaven Asset Management, Lingotto (linked to the Agnelli family), Galdana Ventures and Allen & Co. 

  • December was the first profitable month in the startup’s history, according to CEO Garcia Ottati: “Mexico led that result, with Chile and GCC also reaching important milestones.”
  • SoftBank and General Atlantic led a USD127m round in April 2025, after General Catalyst led a USD700m Series E in September 2021. 
  • Kavak has raised ~USD1.5b in equity financing to date. 

▸ Riverwood Capital led a USD25m growth round for Segura, a Brazilian cybersecurity platform developing identity security systems for enterprises. 

 

▸ Clara, a Mexican startup offering corporate expense management services, renewed a USD150m credit line with Goldman Sachs.

  • Clara raised a USD80m equity and debt round in April 2025; Coatue led a USD70m Series B in 2021 at a USD1b valuation. 

▸ UY3, an Uruguayan decentralized credit platform, raised USD37.2m from Vinci Compass.

  • NVA Capital and Vectis invested ~USD9m in June 2025. 

▸ DEBT | CashU, a Brazilian B2B embedded finance platform for SMEs, raised ~USD23m in debt through a FIDC (Fundo de Investimentos em Direitos Creditorios) from BTG Asset Management and Capitânia Investimentos.

  • Bertha Capital led a ~USD1.5m round in April 2024; ABSeed led a ~USD1.2m round in December 2021. 

▸ Quona Capital and big bets co-led a USD17m Series A for Avenia (formerly BRLA), a cross-border crypto payments platform, with participation from KASZEK, Patria High Growth, Headline, Tomorrow Capital, Palm Drive Capital, Endeavor Scale-Up, Sequoia Scout Fund, Accel Scout Fund and follow-on from Fluent Ventures. 

  • big bets and Fluent Ventures led a ~USD2.1m round in May 2025. 
  • This is Quona’s first deal out of its fourth flagship fund. 

▸ AGTECH | BemAgro, a Brazilian crop management startup, raised a USD5.8m Series A with participation from The Yield Lab LATAM, Grupo Colorado and follow-on from Rural Ventures, Positive Investments, CNH Industrial, Atvos, Suzano, MMAgro and Agroven.

  • BemAgro raised a USD2m pre-Series A in February 2024. 

▸ HEALTHTECH | Positive Ventures invested USD1m in Rivio, a Brazilian hospital administration platform.

  • Rivio raised ~USD18.5m in December 2025. 

▸ Signa, a Colombian counterfeit-detection startup, raised USD1m from Fen Ventures, Orbit Ventures, AngelHub and Funders VC.

 

▸ FOODTECH Nude, a Brazilian oat milk producer, raised ~USD670k from Yunus Negócios Sociais and Belat Brasil.

  • Vox Capital led a ~USD5m Series A in January 2022. 

▸ DOMO.VC led a ~USD550k round for Pix Mídia, a Brazilian corporate TV platform, with participation from Bossa Invest and a ~USD400k round for Jabuti, a Brazilian customer service AI agent platform. 

 

▸ Impacta VC led a USD300k round for Quipu, a Colombia-based digital lending platform, with participation from Decelera, Vertical Partners, Corteza Capital and Comfama.

 

▸ BTG Pactual invested in MeuTudo, a Brazilian digital lending platform. 


▸ Caja Los Andes invested in Soyio, a Chilean savings platform.

Funds

▸ Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is actively committing capital to venture funds in the region with the following most recent flagship fund partnerships:

  • Valor Capital Group (Valor Venture Fund V, USD20m)
  • Canary (Canary IV, USD15m)
  • SP Ventures (AgVentures III, Up to USD10m - more on this below). 

▸ SP Ventures reached a USD50m second close for AgVentures III, its third flagship fund with a USD100m target to invest in startups building for climate resilience, food security and to strengthen rural livelihoods. 

  • Soros Economic Development made a USD8m commitment to the fund. Other notable LPs included IDB Lab, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Grupo Colorado, Manuelita and The Nest Family Office. 
  • SP Ventures' latest disclosed investments include Puna Bio, Agroadvance, Blooms Capital and Produzindo Certo. 

▸ ONEVC reached a USD50m final close for its third flagship fund to invest in the next generation of iconic companies in Latin America. 

  • Congrats to Rodrigo Cartolano and Carla Barone for their promotions to General Partner and Partner, respectively. 
  • ONEVC’s latest investments include Tako, Enter, Patagon AI, Caveo, IORQ and Capim. 

▸ Chilean-based VC Taram Capital launched its second flagship fund with a USD45m target to invest in B2B startups in Latin America. 

  • Taram Capital is led by Managing Partner Felipe Camposano. 

M&As and Exits

▸ PROPTECH | Colombian proptech Tuhabi acquired Pulppo, a Mexican customer management platform for real estate brokers. 

  • Habi’s latest equity round for USD200m included the participation of SoftBank, Tiger Global, Endeavor Catalyst, Clocktower Technology Ventures and Homebrew, among others. Habi has raised USD250m+ in credit lines and structured loans since 2022. 
  • Pulppo investors included Saudi-based VC DAAL, YC and Boost Capital.
