GPCA Private Credit Council Meeting: Key Takeaways

The GPCA Private Credit Council convened last week, led by Council Chair Gustavo Ferraro of Gramercy Funds Management. Highlights of the discussion include:

While the Middle East conflict has impacted GCC hospitality, credit deployment remains active in defensive sectors like healthcare and manufacturing. Commodity-exporting countries in Latin America and West Africa offer relative insulation, with managers leveraging senior-secured structures for downside protection.
Private credit in growth markets is better positioned due to disciplined underwriting, lower leverage and an institutional investor base — avoiding the liquidity mismatches affecting developed market retail-focused funds.
Following the release of GPCA’s Private Credit Outlook report, the Council is launching a new initiative to track standardized deal metrics across growth markets on a recurring basis.

► National Investment and Infrastructure Fund secured USD750m in commitments for its second Private Markets Fund, focused on investing in energy transition, healthcare, manufacturing, technology and startups and financial inclusion across India. #Asia

► Circulate Capital reached a USD220m first close for its second fund focused on growth capital for circular supply chains and recycling businesses spanning plastics, packaging, electronics and apparel across South and Southeast Asia. The vehicle has a USD300m target. #Asia

► Spectra Investments reached a BRL800m (~USD155m) first close for its seventh fund focused on search funds and special situations across Brazil. #LatinAmerica
