DNA Capital | Sanar

DNA Capital, Sanar

In February 2020, DNA Capital invested in Sanar, a Brazil-based digital healthcare education platform offering high-quality and affordable training for medical students and physicians.

 

With DNA Capital’s support, Sanar expanded into postgraduate education, launching hybrid programs in Psychiatry, Cardiology, Emergency Medicine and other fields that prepare licensed physicians for competitive residency placements and specialization exams. The company also acquired Cetrus, a leading provider of advanced medical training, further amplifying its social impact by combining education with direct patient care. In 2024 alone, Sanar provided free medical services to more than 65,000 patients. Following DNA Capital’s entry, monthly course enrollment has grown from 19.9k to over 69k physicians and medical students.

Building on its longstanding annual lists of Top and Emerging Women Investors in Latin American Private Capital, LAVCA continues to accept nominations for the 2026 lists of Top & Emerging Women Investors. 

 

Access the form to nominate senior-, mid- and junior-level female investment professionals deploying capital from a GP, as well as women angel investors investing in 3+ LatAm tech startups a year.

 

GP nominees must actively lead or participate within the investment team at their firms in order to be eligible for consideration.

▸ EXIT | Singapore-based Ant Group made a strategic investment in R2, a Latin American embedded finance platform for consumer-facing applications, providing an exit to COMETA, Hi Ventures, Endeavor Catalyst, General Catalyst, Gradient Ventures, Community Investment Management, FEMSA Ventures, YC, PayU and Adam Neumann’s 116 2nd. 

  • Hi Ventures and COMETA led a USD59m equity and debt round in November 2024; R2 raised ~USD180m across equity and debt financing prior to Ant’s capital injection. 

▸ Community Investment Management provided USD75m in debt financing for Welli, a Colombia-based medical treatment loans startup.

  • Welli raised a USD25m Series A in June from ANIMO Ventures, Costanoa, Crestone Venture Capital and New Ventures.

▸ Advance Venture Partners led a USD50m Series A for Conceivable Life Sciences, a Mexico-based provider of automated IVF services, with follow-on from ARTIS Ventures, Stride and ACME.

  • Conceivable Life Sciences raised a USD20m seed round in July 2023.

▸ CLEANTECH | Ecosystem Integrity Fund led a USD45m Series B for Vammo (formerly Leoparda Electric), a Brazilian battery swapping startup for electric bikes, with participation from Qualcomm Ventures, Endeavor Catalyst, 2150, Maniv, and follow-on from Monashees and Construct Capital.

  • Vammo raised ~USD5.5m in July 2024; Monashees led a USD30m equity and debt round in December 2023; Monashees and Construct Capital led a USD8.5m round in September 2022.

▸ HEALTHTECH | The IFC led a USD30m Series B for ISA Saúde (formerly ISA LAB), a Brazilian at-home medical service, with participation from IDB Lab, Dalus Capital, Endeavor Catalyst and undisclosed investors. 

  • ISA Saúde raised a ~USD6m round extension in November 2022 and a ~USD12m round in August 2022. 

▸ Vintage Investimentos led a ~USD19m round for Darwin AI, a Brazil-based conversational AI assistant.

  • Base10 Partners led a USD4.5m round in August; Canary led a USD2.1m round in February 2024. 

▸ CLEANTECH | Mirova provided USD15m in debt for Bright, a Mexico-based solar energy startup.

  • Danish SDG Investment Fund led a USD31.5m Series C in July 2023; Bright closed a growth equity round from MGM Innova in November 2022 and raised a USD4m seed round in August 2015. 

▸ GamdSports, a Brazilian management platform for football clubs, raised ~USD11m from an undisclosed investor.

 

▸ CRYPTO | Framework Ventures led a USD8.1m round for Crown, a Brazilian digital crypto wallet, with participation from Valor Capital Group, Norte Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, Paxos and Ed Wible (Nubank).

 

▸ Jeitto, a Brazilian microcredit platform for underserved consumers, raised USD6.8m through a corporate bond structured by Credit Saison. 

  • Rise Ventures invested ~USD3m in April. 

▸ AGTECH | SP Ventures and Arar Capital co-led a ~USD3.9m round for Produzindo Certo, a Brazilian agricultural monitoring platform, with participation from The Yield Lab, SLC Ventures and Agroven.

 

▸ WOMEN-LED | Draper Associates led a USD3.4m round for Mappa, a US-based behavioral analysis platform, with participation from Grão, Serac Ventures, Riverwalk Capital Partners and AngelHub Mexico.

  • Mappa was founded by Brazilian Sarah Lucena.

▸ TMT Investments and AngelsDeck co-led a ~USD2.8m round for Rhino, a Brazilian armored car service. 

  • Rhino raised a USD1m round in June; 4Equity Media Ventures invested ~USD1.6m in January. 

▸ Vivo Ventures invested USD2.5m in 180 Seguros, a Brazilian embedded insurance provider for marketplaces and e-commerce platforms.

  • Monashees, Canary and 8VC co-led a ~USD9.2m equity and debt round in September; 8VC led a ~USD31m Series A in February 2022; Canary, Dragoneer and Rainfall Ventures co-led a USD8m seed round in May 2021. 

▸ zMatch, a Brazilian vehicle subscription platform, raised ~USD1.9m from undisclosed investors. 

 

▸ Crescera Capital and Triaxis Capital co-led a ~USD930k round for DS Marketing, a Brazilian marketing automation platform. 

 

▸ Twiggy, a Brazilian online fashion startup, raised a ~USD650k pre-seed round from Bossa Invest, ACE Ventures, FUNSES1 and WOW Aceleradora.

 

▸ Greentable, a Brazilian meal delivery service, raised ~USD370k from BR Angels. 

 

▸ 500 Global led a USD300k seed round for Gopersonal, an Uruguayan e-commerce solutions platform. 

 

▸ PROPTECH | Lugui, a Brazilian conversational AI platform for the real estate industry, raised ~USD280k from undisclosed angels. 

 

▸ Krealo, the CVC arm of Credicorp, invested in Akua, a Colombian payments platform.


▸ STAMINA Ventures invested in eMentor, a Brazilian corporate training platform.
