► EQT led a USD300m Series D for Czech Republic-based hospitality management platform Mews, with participation from Atomico and HarbourVest Partners, as well as follow-on from Kinnevik, Battery Ventures and Tiger Global. #CEE

 

► WestCap led a USD150m Series D for Preply, a Ukraine-based tutoring platform for language learning, with participation from EBRD and Horizon Capital. #CEE

 

► Warburg Pincus agreed to acquire a 41.09% stake in India-based boutique hotel chain Fleur Hotels for INR9.6b (~USD106.2m). #Asia

 

► KASZEK and Insight Partners led a USD55m Series C for Pomelo, an Argentine payments infrastructure platform for fintechs launching prepaid cards and credit cards, with participation from Adams Street Partners, as well as follow-on from monashees, Index Ventures, S32, TQ Ventures and Endeavor Catalyst. #LatinAmerica

 

► Development Partners International invested USD50m in Egypt-based discount grocery chain Kazyon. #Africa

 

► Riverwood Capital led a USD35m investment in Fracttal, a Chile-based IoT asset management platform, with follow-on from Seaya, Kayyak Ventures, GoHub Ventures and Amador Holdings. #LatinAmerica

 

► Bessemer Venture Partners led a USD31m Series B for India-based health management platform Sukino Healthcare Solutions, with participation from Rainmatter. #Asia

 

► Barings provided an infrastructure financing package to ACWA Power, a Saudi Arabia-based provider of power generation, water desalination and green hydrogen infrastructure. #MiddleEast

 

► Mirova invested USD19m in Cold Solutions Kiambu, a Kenya-based provider of agri-solar cold storage. #Africa

 

► Y Combinator and X by Unifonic led a USD7m investment in UAE-based customer communication platform OpenCX, with participation from Shorooq and Sadu Capital. #MiddleEast

 

FUNDRAISING  

► Horizon Capital reached a EUR150m+ (~USD174.4m+) first close for its Catalyst Fund focused on essential sectors such as energy, digital infrastructure and construction that are facing a shortage of equity capital across Ukraine. #CEE

 

► Acumen raised USD250m for its Hardest-to-Reach (H2R) Initiative focused on off-grid solar energy access in 17 underserved countries across Sub-Saharan Africa. #Africa

 

► Blue Earth Capital reached a USD100m+ first close for its inaugural impact secondaries strategy focused on investing globally across sectors such as climate action, circular economy, financial inclusion, healthcare and education. #Global

 

► Jadwa Investment reached a SAR300m+ (~USD80m+) first close for its flagship private credit fund focused on investments across the GCC. The vehicle has a SAR750m (~USD200m) target. #MiddleEast

 

► EIB invested USD80m in RMBV’s third North Africa fund, focused on high-impact sectors such as consumer goods and services, healthcare and education. #Africa

 

► FinDev Canada provided a USD15m loan to Lendable’s second fund, focused on fintechs serving micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, women-owned businesses and digitally enabled, low-income consumer lenders globally. #Global

 

EXITS

► Capital One acquired Brex, a US-based, Brazilian-founded corporate credit card company for startups, for USD5.15b. #LatinAmerica
