Asia Members Meeting: Save the Date

occasions

GPCA will host the final Members Meeting of the year at the Mandarin Oriental, followed by a networking reception. The program, “Asia for Asia,” will explore how Asian GPs are investing more in local markets, while LPs deploy capital closer to home to reduce exposure to US policy shifts and capture growth from the region’s expanding middle class — particularly in Southeast Asia and India. The move toward a true “Asia for Asia” model brings both opportunities and challenges for investors.

Key themes included:

  • Fundraising for private capital in Turkey under the local GSYF regime has accelerated, with corporates, local institutions and high-net-worth individuals taking advantage of GSYF incentives to back local startups.
  • Private equity funds active in Turkey have increasingly focused on export-oriented manufacturers and digital services in recent years in order to manage local currency exposure.
  • Turkey is well positioned to benefit from the ongoing reorganization of global supply chains, given its existing manufacturing base and proximity to the EU.
  • GCC-based investors and corporates are looking to Turkey as a strategic market for expansion. At the same time, Turkish businesses are also moving into the GCC.
