    Private Capital in Brazil Webinar

      BTG Pactual Webinar 2

Recently, Emanuel Hernandez, LAVCA’s Director of Research, co-hosted a webinar with Renato Mazzola, Head of Private Capital at BTG Pactual, to discuss the key trends shaping Brazil’s private capital market — including capital deployment, fundraising and exits across private equity, venture capital, infrastructure, natural resources and private credit.

      Key takeaways:

      • Brazilian companies captured 40% of all private capital deployed in Latin America since 2020, totaling nearly USD50b.
      • Investors are showing growing interest in infrastructure and private credit, signaling increased diversification beyond traditional PE buyouts.
      • Software, telecommunications services and transportation infrastructure led sector activity, accounting for 26% of total capital deployed over the past five years.
      • An unprecedented wave of privatization is underway, with private investors participating in PPPs across sectors, including sanitation, toll roads, schools, hospitals and power transmission.
      • Energy remains a key focus for investors, particularly in expanding renewable capacity and building out Brazil’s transmission infrastructure.
