Deals

▸ Ribbit Capital and Bracket Capital led a USD40m Series B for Somos, a Colombia-based active fiber high-speed internet provider, with participation from KASZEK, USV, Not Boring Capital, Zero Infinity Partners and YC. 

  • Somos raised USD18m in August 2025 and a USD13.4m seed round in 2023 from KASZEK, NAZCA, K50 and Arrive Ventures. 
  • Somos is now the third-largest internet provider in Medellín, per Alex Konrad at Upstarts Media.

▸ Ume, a Brazilian PIX-based lending platform, raised ~USD28.5m through a FIDC (Fundo de Investimentos em Direitos Creditorios) from Itaú BBA, Bradesco BBI, Credit Saison and Western Asset.

  • Valor Capital Group and Bewater led a ~USD22m Series B in September 2025; PayPal Ventures led a USD15m Series A in August 2024; Canary and NFX led a USD5.5m round in April 2022.

▸ Prestamype, a Peruvian working capital financing platform for SMEs, raised a USD27m equity and debt round from ALIVE Ventures, Salkantay Ventures, Lendable and Oikocredit.

  • Prestamype raised a USD5m round in August 2023; Salkantay Ventures invested USD800k in May 2022; Prestamype secured USD2m in venture debt from IDB Lab in September 2022. 

▸ HEALTHTECH | Prosus led a ~USD18m round for Mevo (formerly Nexodata), a Brazil-based drug prescription platform, with follow-on from Matrix Partners, Jefferson River Capital, Lyrical Partners, Floating Point and angel Verônica Serra.

  • Matrix Partners led a ~USD19m Series B in September 2024; Floating Capital led a ~USD9m pre-Series B in July 2022.

▸ HEALTHTECH | Kfund and Grupo Bradesco co-led a ~USD10.8m Series A for Bliss, a Brazilian health insurance platform, with participation from Actyus and Clocktower Ventures.

 

▸ HEALTHTECH | Certuma, a US-based telemedicine platform, raised USD10m from 8VC.

  • Certuma was founded by Argentine entrepreneur Martin Varsavsky. 

▸ HEALTHTECH | Meddi, a Mexico-based digital health platform, raised USD7.8m from GNP Seguros and Médica Móvil.

 

▸ INSURTECH | Headline XP led a ~USD6.6m round for Hero Seguros, a Brazilian travel insurance platform, with participation from Actyus.

 

▸ Sunna Ventures led a ~USD4.75m round for BackChannel, a Brazilian e-commerce platform for fashion retailers interested in purchasing excess inventory, with participation from IGNIA, Positive Ventures, Cathay Latam, Preface Ventures, Norte Ventures, Accion Ventures, Savia Ventures and Morro Ventures.

 

▸ Anthemis led a USD4.25m seed round for Gangkhar, a US-based embedded protection infrastructure platform, with participation from Accion Ventures, Sancor Seguros Ventures, Seedstars, EWA Capital and Simma Capital.

 

▸ VC fund 14B led a USD4.1m round for Core AI, a Brazilian credit modeling software, with participation from big bets, Norte Ventures, Nameless Partners and BFF.

  • 14B is led by Managing Partner Rodrigo Baer. 

▸ HEALTHTECH | Citrino Ventures and 14B co-led a ~USD2.9m round for Nilo Saúde, a Brazilian patient communication and telemedicine platform

  • Nilo Saúde raised a USD10m Series A in January 2022. 

▸ SRM Ventures invested ~USD2.8m in Boreal, a Brazilian credit platform for telecommunications companies. 

 

▸ ProntoPaga, a Chilean payments platform, raised USD2.5m from undisclosed investors. 

 

▸ Rexi, an Argentine financial transaction reconciliation platform, raised a USD1.2m pre-seed round from undisclosed investors. 

 

▸ Frontline, a Uruguay-based enterprise software, raised USD700k pre-seed round from 500 Global, Latitud and undisclosed angels. 

 

▸ CLEANTECH | Espera Capital invested in MUTA, a Colombia-based management software for recycling companies.


▸ IKKB, a Brazilian financial management platform, raised an undisclosed round from Latitud and Caravela Capital.

Funds

▸ Desenvolve SP, the official development agency of São Paulo, made a ~USD4.7m commitment to big_bets II, the second flagship fund led by Alexandre Mello to invest in early-stage companies in Brazil. 

  • big bets’ portfolio includes Core AI, Avenia, Fly Media, Conta Simples, Aravita, DataMilk, among others. 

▸ IDB Lab made a USD2.5m commitment to Innogen Delta I, a venture fund to invest in early-stage startups in Central America, with particular focus on El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

  • Innogen’s latest investments include Tohkn (El Salvador), Grupalia (Mexico), Cubo (El Salvador) and Pulster AI (Guatemala). 

▸ GenAI startup Runway officially launched Runway Fund, a USD10m early-stage vehicle to invest in startups building across AI, media and world simulation.

  • Runway Fund’s portfolio already includes Cartesia, LanceDB and Tamarind Bio.
  • Runway was co-founded by Chileans Cristóbal Valenzuela and Alejandro Matamala.
