Data Insight: Fundraising Goes Local

Fundraising for GPCA markets-focused private capital vehicles increased 8% to USD71b in 2025, yet GPs continue to face headwinds in the form of pervasive global economic uncertainty and geopolitical tensions. Institutional investors are shifting capital to their home markets, highlighting the need for resilient sources of capital for managers investing outside the US and Western Europe. Data from GPCA’s Data Room & LP Intelligence platform suggests GPs are making inroads with the local investor universe, with the local share of disclosed LP commitments to GPCA markets funds growing from 49% in 2019 to 69% in 2025.

► Mubadala Capital raised USD900m for its third Brazil-focused fund. #LatinAmerica

► Source Code Capital-backed SCV raised USD150m+ for its maiden US dollar fund focused on AI infrastructure and applications, robotics, hardware and the global expansion of China tech. #Asia

► Endeavor South Africa reached a ZAR230m (~USD14m) final close for its third Harvest Fund focused on backing and scaling the next generation of high-growth technology businesses across South Africa. #Africa

► Alterra reached a final close for its Africa Accelerator Fund focused on high-growth, mid-sized enterprises across multiple sectors in Africa. #Africa

► CAF approved the creation of a USD20m Impact Investment Fund in Latin America and the Caribbean (FIIALC). #LatinAmerica
