2026 Trends in Global Tech: The Investment Rebound and What's Next
GPCA’s newly released report tracks who’s raising capital, what’s getting funded and where tech investment is moving across global markets.
Key takeaways:
Tech investment across GPCA markets rose 10% to USD62.1b in 2025. Venture remains the largest segment, but digital infrastructure and credit together reached a record of nearly 25%.
Investors have deployed USD34.8b into data centers, fiber and telecom assets since 2022, making this one of the most durable themes.
VC fundraising fell to USD12.1b (2017 levels). India overtook China as the largest market, while CEE and the Middle East posted record years.

GPCA's Middle East Council convened last week, led by Chair Dr. Karim El Solh of Gulf Capital. Highlights of the discussion include:
Private capital investors are intensifying cash-flow forecasting, engaging daily with portfolio company CEOs, strengthening bank relationships and activating robust business continuity plans to navigate ongoing regional instability.
While consumer discretionary sectors are suffering, healthcare (supported by government contracts) and essential delivery services remain resilient, with investors looking toward AI integration and telemedicine as medium-term growth opportunities despite the conflict.
In response to regional security threats and local hosting mandates, firms are implementing layered contingency plans, including satellite backups (Starlink) and redundant data hosting in Europe and other regions to mitigate the risk of single-country infrastructure failures.
