    Nominations are now open for LAVCA's longstanding annual lists of Top & Emerging Women Investors in Latin American Private Capital.

     

    Complete the form below to nominate senior-, mid- and junior-level female investment professionals in private capital (VC, PE, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Natural Resources, Private Credit) and female angel investors investing in 3 or more LatAm tech startups per year (over USD50k directly into startups)
     
    Nominees must actively lead or participate within the investment team at their firms in order to be eligible for consideration.

      LAVCA has appointed Francisco Alvarez‑Demalde, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Riverwood Capital, as Board Chair, succeeding Nicolás Szekasy, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of KASZEK.

        Also completing their terms are Mario Malta, Managing Director at Advent International, and Jose Sosa del Valle, Partner at Lexington Partners. The three retiring directors are being succeeded by:

        • Nicolas Berman, Partner at KASZEK

        • Juan Savino, Managing Director focused on Latin America at Lexington Partners

          ◼︎ Patria Investments raised USD2.9b for its fifth infrastructure fund focused on projects in Colombia, Chile and Brazil. Fund V marks the largest dedicated infrastructure fund raised in Latin America. #RealAssets

           

          ◼︎ IFC and Appian Capital Advisory announced a USD1b partnership focused on critical minerals, metals and mining-related projects in Africa and Latin America. #RealAssets

           

          ◼︎ QIA invested USD535m in ISAGEN, a Colombia-based renewable energy platform. At the same time, Brookfield Renewable Partners is investing up to USD1b to increase its equity interest to 38%. #RealAssets

           

          ◼︎ Actis agreed to acquire a Brazil-based transmission line from EDP Brasil through Skyline, its Long Life Infrastructure Fund 2 electricity transmission platform. #RealAssets

           

          ◼︎ Orion Resource Partners agreed to invest USD360m in Santo Domingo and Sierra Norte copper projects in Chile. #RealAssets

           

          ◼︎ Vinci Compass announced a strategic relationship with Ares Management to expand access to Ares’ semi-liquid product portfolio. #PrivateCredit

           

          ◼︎ Kora led a USD250m Series B for Plata, a Mexico-based digital bank, with participation from Moore Strategic Ventures, Audeo Ventures, Spice Expeditions, Hedosophia and others. #VC

           

          ◼︎ Community Investment Management provided USD75m in debt financing for Welli, a Colombia-based medical treatment loans startup. #VC

           

          ◼︎ Advance Venture Partners led a USD50m Series A for Conceivable Life Sciences, a Mexico-based provider of automated IVF services. #VC

           

          ◼︎ Yellowstone Capital Partners and Amarilo announced a COP85.7b (~USD22.3m) investment to finance residential real estate projects in Bogotá and Barranquilla. #RealAssets

           

          ◼︎ An undisclosed institutional investor invested BRL300m (~USD56m) for a 25% stake in a Special Purpose Entity (SPE) created by Brazil-based paper company Klabin. The SPE holds 15,000 hectares of forestry assets that will be leased back to Klabin. #RealAssets

           

          ◼︎ Temasek’s GenZero invested in BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group’s Latin America reforestation strategy, bringing the total capital mobilized to date to USD672m. #RealAssets

           

          ◼︎ Spectra announced the launch of its first evergreen PE fund in Brazil, with initial commitments of BRL1b (~USD187m). #PE

           

          ◼︎ Astarte Capital Partners and Toesca Asset Management held a USD100m first close on their joint regenerative agriculture fund, which has a USD350m target to invest in crops in Chile and Peru. #RealAssets
