▸ CloudWalk, a Brazilian POS and blockchain-based payments platform for entrepreneurs and SMEs, raised ~USD1.1b through a FIDC (Fundo de Investimentos em Direitos Creditorios).

  • CloudWalk raised ~USD570m in June 2025; CloudWalk raised USD444m in December 2024; Coatue led a USD150m Series C in November 2021 and a USD190m Series B in May 2021. 

▸ Bicycle Capital led a USD405m Series C for Mexico-based fintech Plata, with participation from Qatar Investment Authority, BTG Pactual, Valor Capital Group and follow-on from Kora, Hedosophia, Spice Expeditions and Audeo Ventures, at a reported USD5b valuation. 

  • Kora led a USD250m Series B for the company in October 2025 at a USD3.1b valuation, after leading a USD160m Series A in March at a USD1b valuation. 
  • Plata secured a credit financing facility for up to USD500m from Nomura in December 2025. 

▸ JP Morgan and Fasanara Capital provided a USD150m credit line for ADDI, a Colombian point-of-sale lending platform. 

  • ADDI raised a USD36m round in March 2024; GIC led a USD80m round for ADDI in December 2021; Greycroft led a USD75m Series B+ in September 2021. 

▸ PROPTECH Habi, a Colombian residential real estate platform leveraging the iBuyer business model, secured USD40m in debt financing from BBVA Spark. 

  • SoftBank led a USD100m Series B in Habi in July 2021 in the largest known Series B for a Colombian startup; Inspired Capital led a US10m Series A in 2020. 

▸ M&A I Squared Capital acquired Elea Data Centers, a Brazilian data center platform operating 9 interconnected campuses across the country. 

  • Piemonte Holding founded Elea Data Centers in 2019 as its digital infrastructure platform and built the initial portfolio through acquisitions, including Brasil Telecom/Oi, Globo, TIM and later DXC assets.
  • Goldman Sachs Asset Management invested in Elea in 2021 and 2022.
  • Goldman exited Elea as part of the transaction. 

▸ Kontigo, a US-based digital wallet, raised a USD25m round from undisclosed investors. 

  • Kontigo was founded by Venezuelans Jesus Castillo and Gino Guatavita. 

▸ KASZEK and Andreessen Horowitz co-led a USD8m seed round for Segura, a Brazilian sales platform for insurance brokers, with participation from big_bets.

  • Angels participating included Assaf Wand (Hippo Insurance), Marcelo Blay (Minuto Seguros), Fersen Lambranho (GP Investments), Anderson Thees (Redpoint eVentures) and the Almeida Braga family of Icatu.

▸ Tantauco Ventures led a USD7.7m seed round for Grupalia, a Mexico-based lending platform for SMEs, with follow-on from Semilla Ventures and Innogen Capital. 

 

▸ Fen Ventures led a USD6m round for Wibond, an Argentina-based financial infrastructure platform, with participation from Marc Randolph (Netflix). 

 

▸ monashees led a USD5m round for Astor, a US-based financial advising platform, with participation from YC, Goodwater Capital and undisclosed angels. 

  • Astor was founded by Brazilians Bruno Koba and Daniel Tulha.

▸ North Island Ventures led a USD4m seed round for Depay, an Argentine payments infrastructure platform, with participation from DCG, CMT Global, Verda Ventures, Onigiri Capital and Hash3.

 

▸ Bradesco Venture Capital led a ~USD3m round for PX Data, a Brazilian corporate data management platform, with participation from Vibra Ventures. 

 

▸ Propel VC led a ~USD2m round for BOND, a Brazilian accounting platform for SMEs, with participation from Kiara Ventures, Norte Ventures and Hypersphere.

 

▸ Chilean fintech Blanco raised USD1.7m via crowdfunding. 

 

▸ DOMO.VC invested ~USD600k in Fanbase, a Brazilian marketing platform for sports clubs. 

 

▸ Itaú Ventures invested in Minter, a Brazilian startup that installs mobile data centers in power plants. 

 

▸ Alaya Capital invested in Wyndwood, a Peruvian real estate rental platform, Mobi, a Bolivian motorcycle subscription platform and Pitz, a Mexican AI copilot for automotive repair shops.

Funds

▸ monashees is close to reaching a first close for Monashees XI, its eleventh flagship fund with a USD200m target to invest in early-stage technology startups in Latin America.

  • IFC is expected to make a USD11.2m commitment to the vintage; IDB Lab is expected to commit USD6.5m.

▸ Newtopia VC reached ~USD25m in committed capital for its second flagship fund, which has a USD50m target to back repeat founders building global companies from Latin America.

 

▸ US-based Blackhorn Ventures acquired Mexico-based Proeza Ventures, integrating

  • Proeza Ventures invested across mobility, supply chain and logistics, industrial technology and the energy transition.
  • Blackhorn invests across industrial decarbonization, factory automation, mobility, supply chain, energy and the built environment.

▸ Innogen Capital reached an USD11m close for ICV Delta Fund I, its inaugural venture fund to invest in early-stage startups in Central America, and increased the fund’s final target to USD15m.

  • LPs include IDB Lab (USD2.5m) and corporates such as Agrisal, Grupo Steiner, Grupo AG and ABANK.
  • The fund will focus on fintech, logistics and proptech startups. 
  • Innogen’s latest investments include Tohkn, Grupalia, Cubo and Pulster AI. 
News

▸ Brazil payments company EBANX launched operations in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Turkey, adding to existing operations in India and the Philippines.

  • Zoom out: EBANX’s expansion reflects a broader push by LatAm fintech infrastructure companies to export local payments expertise into other fragmented developing markets.

▸ Telefónica sold its Mexico business to Melisa Acquisition, a consortium led by OXIO and Newfoundland Capital Management, for USD450m. 

  • Telefonica’s Mexico business had 21.7m customers in 2025, down 7% year-over-year, and roughly 15% of Mexican mobile lines, behind América Móvil’s Telcel and AT&T.
  • Catch up quick: Telefónica is continuing its broader retreat from Latin America, after exits of announced sales in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Argentina and Peru.

▸ TikTok is seeking approval from Brazil’s central bank to operate as a lending and payments fintech. 

  • ByteDance has applied for licenses as an electronic money issuer and a direct credit company, which could allow TikTok to offer prepaid accounts, in-app payments and credit products in Brazil.
