Secondary Deals and IPOs Revive Exits

According to LAVCA’s 2026 Industry Data & Analysis, private capital exits in Latin America reached an inflection point in 2025 after two years of cyclical lows. Exits totaled USD13.2b across 246 deals, supported by a more active secondary market and the selective reopening of public listing windows.
    Slide1-4
Sponsor-to-sponsor sales of mature infrastructure assets drove much of the secondary activity, as institutional and long-duration investors sought de-risked assets with stable cash flows. Meanwhile, private capital-backed companies mobilized USD4.1b across 18 public market transactions, the highest level since 2021, led by new listings from Mexico-based companies including Esentia (USD630m, BMV), Grupo Aeroméxico (USD223m, NYSE) and Quantum Energia (USD4.5b, BMV).
